Response Options offers first-on-the-scene Officers training based on their need to rapidly and intelligently engage the most violent situations imaginable. We understand the requirement of our School Resource Officers, Patrol Officers, and Campus Officers in these events: rescue large numbers of people in an extremely violent event, in a large or confined space, with a minimum of manpower - often just themselves. There will always be a "first" officer on scene. If he/she waits for more officers, who are we portraying needs help more: the police or those under attack? Our course is designed to provide Officers with the necessary mental and physical skills to act aggressively but not recklessly, draw attention of the active shooter away from the potential victims, confuse and frustrate the shooter, and successfully neutralize the situation. The courses involve classroom, range, and scenario instruction.
We offer an Operator Course (3-Days) and an Instructor Course (5-days). The Instructor Course is open to all firearms instructors or officers who submit a written waiver request from their administration. It is not necessary for an Instructor to attend the Operator course first. R.A.I.D.E.R. Instructor certification allows officers to train others in their home organization in these tactics and skills.
Please note that handgun ammo is supplied for the Instructor level course only (as long as ammo is available), so please tell us the caliber required. Bring your own rifle ammo.
Response Options was glad to provide the Ohio Peace Officer Training Academy with assistance from the RAIDER program in the building of their Single Officer Response to Active Threat Course. We are very proud of the contribution to this course from the many RAIDER course graduates in the State of Ohio.

The University of Toledo Police Department is changing the way they are responding to active shooter threats. In the past, they were trained to respond to the threat of a shooter in groups of four. They are now switching over to the RAIDER method.
